Strese sets Brandon-Evansville career scoring mark

Setting a career scoring mark is one thing but passing your sister to set that mark is another.

That’s exactly what Brandon-Evansville post Heather Strese did in a 58-45 win over Hillcrest Lutheran Academy last night. Heather’s sister, Megan, currently a sophomore at Moorhead State University, held the previous mark of 1,864 points.

Heather needed 24 points to reach that heading into last night’s game against the Comets. She surpassed that by four, finishing with 28 points with her sister among the fans watching in Evansville last night.

“She’s had quite a year,” head coach Dick Simpson said of Heather.

Strese has a shot of becoming the first 2,000-point scorer in school history. The Chargers have four games left in the regular season and will be guaranteed at least one playoff game. She would need to average 26.4 a game to reach the milestone in those five games.
